Mechanic electrical checks on a car

Electrical / Wiring

A contemporary car is packed with electronics and electrical components which, from time to time, can fail to work correctly. Perhaps the electric windows have stopped functioning, perhaps it’s the wiper motor that’s busted, the car’s audio won’t work, the electric wing mirror motions no longer go in when you lock your car, a bulb in the headlights has dimmed, the fog lights won’t turn on, the tow bar plug becoming faulty or the electric sunroof.

We can diagnose, then repair or replace the electrics in your car to get you back safely on the road.

Diagnostic

Worrying warning light or fault code appeared on your dashboard?

Tab Automotive use the latest state-of-the-art car diagnostic test equipment to help troubleshoot system warnings and check engine lights to identify issues early before a possible component failure occurs.

Our diagnostic equipment checks for faults with engine management, electrical systems, lights, emissions, tyres and more to quickly identify any potentially costly problems.

Our ATA-trained technicians can then assist with advising you of any recommended repairs to fix the problem, reset the engine management or warning light and prevent further damage in the future.

The standard diagnostic check can take up to 1 hour. If a repair or replacement is needed, a no-obligation quote will be provided. We only use quality parts provided from approved suppliers.

Exhaust

Does your vehicle have strange rattling noises, excess smoke, seem louder than usual or keeping you off the road? It is always wise to check your exhaust for damage every year or after 6000 miles – whichever is first. With increasingly stringent exhaust emission tests and a whole variety of exhaust systems now available it’s no wonder that more people are having to get an exhaust repair. Give us a call we will be happy to help.

Suspension

It is not always obvious that a problem in your vehicle suspension system is present. This is generally due to a gradual loss of performance in the shocks and springs and because this happens over time a motorist may not always feel the gradual decrease in suspension performance. Our trained suspension repair specialists will inspect your vehicle and quickly identify any problems with your suspension system. The technician will provide a full report and show you any issues we find, along with a clear quotation for any repairs, where required.

The types of car parts that often require programming & coding include:

  • Engine Control Modules (ECM)
  • Body Control Modules (BCM)
  • Airbag Modules
